Crank yankers turd in car1/19/2023 “There are people who get their jollies doing rude stuff like this abroad and in Japan… You should think about how embarrassing you look saying that all Japanese are like this and all foreigners are like that. Yankervilles puppet citizens (voiced by celebrities and comedians) call real people - whether they like it or not. Created by Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Daniel Kellison, Crank Yankers makes the prank phone calls you dreamed of as a kid a reality. That said, it’s surprising to see a Japanese person defending McDonald’s quality after some of the company’s scandals that made headlines.Īt the end of the day, considering there don’t seem to be a whole lot of foreigners wasting their time crank-calling fast food chains in Japan, it’s nice that more than a few netizens recognized that this kind of behavior can go both ways: Be the first to review this item 2002 TV-MA. Strangely enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard Japanese people slam English food, which doesn’t seem to have that great of reputation compared to cuisine from other European countries such as France and Italy. Find similar music that youll enjoy, only at Last.fm. ‘English people have no room to be making fun of Japanese chain stores considering how much their food sucks ^^’ Listen to Spoonie Luv Sends Flowers (LP Version), Spoonie Takes Out A Personal (LP Version) and more from Crank Yankers. ‘That this video making fun of Japanese people has so many likes just goes to show how shitty foreigners are. When you’re in Japan use Japanese you shitheads.’ ‘I just noticed, but this video is over a year old!!!!’ ‘But I don’t think the guy had evil intentions or anything so what’s the big deal?’ ‘I understand why people are pissed off, because Japanese people have some kind of complex when it comes to foreigners’ ‘Foreigners really like discriminating against people, don’t they?’ ‘What is “poo poo”? Does it mean “unko” (Japanese word for poop)? Lol’ ‘So this is what a popular foreign YouTube is like?’ We’ve translated some of the general reactions below: Some commenters found the video to be quite humorous, others, however, were hugely disappointed in the video, citing that in Japan pranking (or disrupting) businesses is technically illegal, and that the video’s makers unfairly took advantage of the Japanese employees’ poor English skills. To date the channel has over 3,500,000 subscribers, but recently a video posted from 2014-wherein one of the characters calls two different Japanese McDonald’s restaurants to complain about the food-has prompted a huge reaction from both Japanese and non-Japanese viewers alike. After calling a record store to inquire about Tupac Shakur albums, Mooshu offers the clerk Chinese women and crack. Overall, the format is similar to the no-longer-running television show Crank Yankers. After Gladys Murphy picks up her car, shes shocked to find a huge turd in the backseat. Ownage Pranks uses a handful of “characters” to place calls to various restaurants, stores, and everyday people, and the content of the conversations is either captioned or animated. Net users take to YouTube video’s comments section to express their anger and disappointment over prankster’s crank call video to McDonald’s restaurant in Japan.įor over five years, one anonymous English voice actor/comedian has been regularly posting prank call videos to YouTube via their channel, Ownage Pranks.

Star gazer light1/19/2023 Whether you’re in search of a projector that casts space-related pictures onto your ceiling or a more fanciful model that emits colorful nebula-like lights and shapes, you can find one that suits your interests and aesthetic goals. There are options with fewer bells and whistles. But if it’s simplicity you seek, don’t worry. Some have cool features like white noise, Bluetooth speakers, and even the ability to sync its lights to music, too. The star projectors on this list are all powered by either a wall outlet or USB port - so keep in mind which might be more convenient in the space where you plan to use it. The way these modes are controlled varies by model, and it’s up to you whether you’d prefer a projector with physical buttons, a remote, or an app that allows you to select more custom settings from anywhere. Many also feature automatic shutoff timers. Both kinds of projectors often offer adjustable brightness levels and image rotation speeds. You can also find options with just lasers - these might look less like real stars but can still make a big visual impact. Alternatively, planetarium-like star projectors have interchangeable discs that cast a single image onto the wall or ceiling. Nebula-like projections are mainly created with colorful lights and/or lasers, and many have multiple lighting modes and colors. Some incorporate upgraded technical features (like Bluetooth capability), but if it’s simplicity you seek, don’t worry - there are options that can project star-like lights with fewer bells and whistles. The best star projectors for adults will create a star-scape you love and feature the number of settings and colors you want to experiment with. Jet engine decibel1/19/2023 “It allows the fans to turn slower and be less noisy,” he explains. But on newer planes, the engine compartments are much bigger, and so are the fans in the front. “A jet aeroplane used to be just that – a big jet engine on either side producing huge amounts of noise,” says Pardoe. Such customisation can bring the decibel level down below 50 db, much quieter than on passenger planes.Įngines are also a major source of noise, but they are getting gradually quieter. On private jets, extra cash and fewer qualms about fuel efficiency means extra sound insulation, with more glass on the windows, sound-absorbent suede leather ceiling panels and redesigned air conditioning systems. Such techniques, he says, helped the double-decker Airbus A380 plane to be recognised by the UK Noise Abatement Society as the quietest jet airliner on the market. This allows engineers to reshape their designs, says Alan Pardoe, director of product marketing at Airbus. So during the design phase of modern aircraft, computational tools model the aerodynamics of the aeroplane to highlight areas of high airflow that are likely to increase cabin noise. One of the main sources of noise is wind. So what are engineers doing to tackle the problem? But it’s far from straightforward, because some noise reduction techniques – such as adding thick insulation to the cabin walls – can add weight, which increases fuel consumption. On older aircraft, or towards the back of a plane, noise levels can often get close to this threshold.Īircraft manufacturers and airlines recognise the issue, and try to reduce the noise inside cabins. And if noise goes higher than 90 dB for eight or more hours per day, it may lead to permanent hearing loss, warns the US Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). “Many people notice tinnitus – ringing in the ear – following a long flight, an early symptom of noise damage,” says Mason. Long exposure to 85 dB can cause temporary hearing problems. At cruising altitudes, noise drops to around 85 dB, says Pamela Mason of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Take-off and landing are the loudest moments, when noise levels inside the cabin can reach 105 decibels (dB). The noise during a typical plane journey can vary significantly. Could new technology help? And are there any tricks passengers can use to avoid noise? Despite great advances in aviation, if the engines are whirring, the wind is whizzing and the air conditioning is pumping, it’s still pretty noisy inside passenger jets. “The droning, after a while, appeared to take the form of a tune, which mysteriously sounded like a church choir.” According to Gibb, it inspired one of the band’s most famous songs, I Started A Joke.įor most passengers though, aircraft noise is more likely to be a pain than a source of inspiration. “It was one of those old four-engine 'prop' jobs’ that seemed to drone the passenger into a sort of hypnotic trance, only with this it was different,” the late singer Robin Gibb once said in a BeeGees anthology. One day in 1968, members of the BeeGees were flying aboard a British Airways Vickers Viscount plane, listening closely to the aircraft noise inside the cabin.

Map of hollow knight1/19/2023 I bought Bloodstained to try after I finish up Detroit and that will kind of be a test for me of whether I'm sick of the genre or just haven't liked the last few I tried since reviews and impressions are so favorable. I think I'm mostly sick of metroidvania games in general despite that it used to be one of my favorite genres. I spent like 15ish hours trying to get into it on three occasions (same playthrough, just bounced off it and came back twice). The solution isnt putting in more fast travel points but perhaps giving players better tools to traveres quickly in the enviroment or something similar to the dreamgate where you set your own points of travel? I think for this genre it can be a difficult thing to balance. Looking at SOTN map there are good few dead ends too. I agree in that sometimes where places where you think would be linked are just closed off, the map is quite compact so just knocking in a few walls would of helped greatly, perhaps just too many dead ends? SOTN does have certain areas that can be a pain to traverse too, Labortory to Bell Tower to think of one. I thought the dreamgate was a pretty good solution, what do you think OP? Before dreamgate was patched in, which I think was a reaction to what issues many people had, it was horrible, especially anyone playing blind. Completely agree about getting around up until the you get the dreamgate ability which makes it more manageable, perhaps this could have been a very early ability to get.

Donovan mitchell injury1/19/2023 Snyder has long been criticized by some for keeping his stars and starters in for unnecessarily long times in blowouts. There were no deep reserves waiting at the scorers’ table - if not for Mitchell’s injury, Utah’s key rotation pieces presumably would have stayed on the court awhile longer. It wasn’t until that point that coach Quin Snyder decided to make the platoon swap and remove each of the four starters and his sixth man (Clarkson, Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley) who’d still been playing. Indeed, with Mitchell hobbling and unable to run back on defense, Jordan Clarkson committed a foul at the 4:41 mark to stop the game and allow Mitchell to sub out. The situation makes for potentially intriguing series bookends: Dallas’ Luka Doncic missed the beginning of the series after suffering an injury in what turned out to be a meaningless final regular-season game for the Mavs and Mitchell potentially could miss the end of the series after getting hurt when he didn’t need to be on the court anymore.Īnd so, as news of Mitchell’s injury spread on Monday night, it inevitably prompted backlash from a contingent of the Utah fanbase wondering what Mitchell and other key players were still doing in the game with the outcome long a forgone conclusion. He was diagnosed with “bi-lateral quadriceps contusions,” and will continue treatment, but his status for Thursday’s Game 6 will not be updated until Wednesday. The Jazz announced Tuesday afternoon that Mitchell was examined earlier in the day by the team’s medical staff, and underwent an MRI on his hamstring, which came back negative for any structural damage. When Donovan Mitchell drove the lane, elevated, then landed and immediately grabbed at his left hamstring in Monday night’s Game 5, there was 4:55 remaining in the game.Īnd the Utah Jazz were trailing the Dallas Mavericks by 28 points in what proved to be a rout.

Doom eternal coop1/18/2023 There are no enemies, and as the name suggests, you're instead faced with a platforming challenge where you have to navigate an area before time runs out, while also trying to collect coins. Traversal rounds are a much different sort of affair. (Certain lowly targets are worth zero points, including those spawned by an Archville, while tougher opponents are worth more than the average demon.) It's also critical that you do use what little space you have in the arena-as you begin to get swarmed by enemies, it's easy to turtle up at the spawn point, but you'll find armor and ammo nearby, and repositioning will help you to take stock of the enemies you're facing and prioritize the high-value ones. Here, it's essential to keep track of all the enemies on the field, as their point value decreases over time you want to prioritize the gold targets before worrying about bronze ones, for instance. Horde mode initially starts you out with just one weapon, but make it through a round of Arena and you'll be given a random weapon to add to your arsenal for that run.īlitz rounds put you in a much smaller arena and involve trying to kill as many enemies as possible before time runs out. The first and most common is Arena, which is a pretty typical wave-based mode where you'll take on a bunch of enemies, with a short break in between each wave to let you regain your composure and gather ammo, health, and armor. You can quit at any time, but your progress is only saved at the start of each mission, so prepare to sink in a bit of time for any play session. If you run out of lives and die, you'll have to start completely over. Understand the structure and round typesĪ successful run through Horde mode involves completing three missions, each of which is split up into a series of rounds, which themselves may be split into a series of waves. Also be sure to check out our rundown on Horde mode's milestones and rewards. With all of that in mind, we've assembled some Horde mode tips based on our early experience with the mode so far to help ensure you rack up some high scores. Now Playing: DOOM Eternal Horde Mode Official Trailer There is some nuance to how you should approach Horde mode, but ultimately your success will ride on how effectively you can lay waste to demon scum.īy clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's If you fall into that camp, just remember that Eternal has a very distinct style of action compared to many other shooters you need to use a wide range of weapons, target enemy weakpoints, make frequent use of your flamethrower to keep the armor flowing, and always stay on the move. It's a good opportunity to return to one of the best shooters in recent years, particularly if you missed out on the PS5/Xbox Series X updates.īut Horde mode operates under the assumption that you've been playing Doom Eternal recently, meaning you can expect to get your ass kicked if you boot it up after taking a break from the game. It pits you-this is a single-player-only mode, unfortunately-against waves of enemies, as is customary for a Horde mode, but with some wrinkles that give it a little spin on what you might expect (namely, rounds that don't involve shooting enemies). Doom Eternal's Horde mode is now available thanks to a free update that's arrived for the Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and Stadia versions of the game.

Call of the sea leaving game pass1/18/2023 But I know there are other people out there who hate having so much of the story delivered this way. To me, this was never an issue because everything was written well, and despite it being a constant flow of exposition it never felt that way. You rarely get to interact with other characters, and so you’re left to Norah’s lovely voice and the dozens of documents that you’ll find lying around. One sticking point worth mentioning for some of you fine folk is how Call of the Sea does lean heavily into the trope of using letters, pictures and items you find scattered around to impart almost all of its story. And the story it takes you on is captivating and interesting, albeit maybe shorter than I would have liked. Call of the Sea leans into its old-timey vibes with dialogue that some might find corny, but that I personally find charming, the kind that creates that classic adventure feel. There’s Lovecraftian elements to the narrative, but the game brings a fun twist to it and never dives into horror, instead being happy to just occasionally toss in a reference to classical works of psychological terror and trauma. It’s a relaxed experience with not even a hint of combat or risk of failure, letting you soak up the lovely vibrant visuals and the story. What she finds is ancient technology, a ship ripped apart, a tale of a crew seemingly being driven to insanity and an odd black ooze.Ĭall of the Sea plays out as a first-person adventure where you solve puzzles to advance the story. He vanishes, however, and we pick up as Norah reaches the same island, intent on finding her missing husband. Her loving husband, Harry, whom she refers to as old pal, hired a crew and headed for a strange island in the South Pacific which he believes could hold the cure to the love of his life’s affliction. The game takes place in the 1930s where we take on the role of Norah, a woman suffering from some sort of mysterious illness that has begun covering her hands in strange pattern of patches. So I’m here to drag it out of the water and provide some hasty CPR, especially since Call of the Sea just launched on Playstation, bringing a whole new chance for this little pearl of a game to find an appreciative audience! And I promise I’ll stop making bad water jokes now. While I’ll certainly include some of the bigger titles available on the service, I’ll focus more on other games that you might have overlooked in the hope of leading you to a hidden gemĭespite launching straight onto Game Pass back in December of last year, Call of the Sea struggled to make a splash and has sunken into the depths of relative obscurity. Welcome to Best of Xbox Game Pass where each week I’m going to pick out a game available on Game Pass and explain why I think it is worth playing.

Edm music math theory1/18/2023 This course examines the interaction of mathematics and music composition since 1970, an interaction. And again, lacked that critical engagement, although provided a neat understanding of the math/theory behind sound. MUAC 1000 Fundamentals of Music Theory (4 Credits). I tried reading through Synth Secrets, but just found too much knowledge specific to hardware synths. Perhaps because it’s focus is on fundamentally understanding the basics, and not doing more advanced stuff. Syntorial was useful as well, because of that critical aspect, but hasn’t been as useful as going through a synth. I guess in art terms, it’s a bit like tracing a drawing vs actually trying to draw what you see. You’re not having to actively engage with the material, you’re merely recreating it. What's more important is the amount of measures of music that are used: 4, 8, 16. Overall, when writing the intro, the exact time down to the number of seconds isn't really thought about. If not, he can skip right to the 'meat' of the song, but it's nice to have the option of both for more flexibility.
